SHOW YOUR WORK AT NCFF

WE LOVE FILM HERE AT NCFF, AND WE LOVE FILMMAKERS TOO!

Submissions are now open – Click here to submit

The Nevada City Film Festival is 27 years old this June and somehow still feels like the best kept secret in independent film. We are small by design, intentional by nature, and genuinely filmmaker-forward in a way that is harder to find than it should be.

What that means in practice: we care about the work, we care about the people making it, and we care about what happens when you put a group of passionate, independent-minded artists in a beautiful small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills for a weekend and give them room to breathe, talk, and create together. Emerging filmmakers. Re-emerging filmmakers. Filmmakers who took a detour and found their way back. All of you are welcome here.

Who Should Submit
Professional, film students, and amateur filmmakers are invited to submit their films in a variety of genres including, but not limited to, documentaries, animation, narrative, comedy, multi-media, experimental, and music videos.

Stories That Resonate
We are looking for films that stop us in our tracks. Stories that haven’t been told, or haven’t been told like this. Films that take a familiar feeling and find a completely new way in. Work that is visually alive, emotionally honest, and made with a point of view that could only belong to you.

We want to laugh. We want to cry. We want to sit in the dark after the credits roll and not quite be ready to leave. We want bittersweet, we want beautiful, we want the kind of storytelling that reminds us why we fell in love with cinema in the first place.
