A Media Arts and Digital Wellbeing Educational Program
Funded by Nevada City Film Festival
An interactive MEDIA ARTS & LITERACY program for Nevada County youth that includes SEL elements, STEAM, arts integration, media literacy and digital citizenship.
CINEMA IN SCHOOLS helps TEACH & INTERACT with the ELEMENTS of filmmaking while sharing media literacy skills & tips, and HOW TO LIVE, THRIVE, AND LEARN safely in our DIGITAL WORLD.
FREE TO SCHOOLS. ASSEMBLY STYLE with hands-on exploration & interaction, media clips, skits, music, role-play, and tools for media arts literacy.
THE DETAILS
- Assembly is 45 minutes long with Q & A, if desired for older kiddos.
- Tailored for K-8th graders.
- Ideal for 100-150 students for best interactive play and program outreach success (students and staff will be asked to PARTICIPATE in assembly on & off stage!)
- Video clips from alumni NCFF filmmakers on importance of storytelling & more.
- Live presentation with credentialed teacher with wireless headset & mic system.
OPTIONS
- Presentation can tie into YOUR school’s specific SEL/Character Education curriculum for customized messaging & outreach.
- Follow-up classroom lessons & project ideas integrating academic subjects and state standards for media arts and English language arts.
- Provide FILMS LINK for students to experience Art House quality films.
- Provide lessons for student-created films for peer to peer leadership (PSAs).
- NCFF can produce a showcase of student media arts projects (a mini film fest).
- Vetted resources in media literacy & digital wellbeing: videos, podcasts, stories.
